Food

St. Gregory’s Pantry

Through the generosity and commitment of individuals, churches, businesses, schools, clubs, and various service organizations in our community, St. Gregory’s Pantry provides temporary aid to approximately 10,000 individuals annually.

Panthers, Let’s Eat

We are a group of parent volunteers from the Point Pleasant Community. We work in conjunction with the Ocean Road School PTO. Our mission is to provide children and their siblings who are on the free/reduced lunch program healthy meals when school is not in session. We receive food and monetary donations from local residents and business, which help us to provide families in our program with meals and snacks during school breaks. Our goal is to replace the meals that a child would normally receive during the school year. We provide assistance in all four schools of Point Pleasant Boro.

Fulfill NJ- MOnmouth & Ocean

The FoodBank of Monmouth & Ocean Counties is now Fulfill. We’ve changed our name, because we’re doing more than ever to change lives in our communities for the better.

Our new name reflects the fact that today we focus on more than food distribution. It reflects our commitment to fulfill more of the needs of our neighbors and win the battle against hunger. It reflects our comprehensive approach that goes beyond providing food and helps those in need get to a place where they can get back on their feet for good.

Housing

Destiny’s Bridge

Destiny’s Bridge™ envisions being a community established for the temporary housing and care of homeless adults. The primary objective will be to provide shelter, sustenance, and medical care, with opportunities for rehabilitation, and training in employable skills, to facilitate reintegration with mainstream society.

Margaret Hague Foundation

The Margaret Hague Foundation’s vision is an exciting new concept in response to the fundamental desire for each of us to live in our home safely and securely with as much independence as possible.

The Margaret Hague Foundation will provide such a place. The individualized services residents will receive is unsurpassed in options for elders who otherwise would be at risk of long-term nursing home placement.

Along with providing housing services to our residents, we will also be providing services to care for their social and emotional needs. This will include setting up necessary transportation for our Seniors and organizing volunteers to visit with residents. Our elderly need warm outside human contact and conversation like everyone else. We will be developing programs to meet these and other social needs.

Senior Housing Net

At SeniorHousingNet, we aim to help older adults find housing that will meet their current and future care needs, while allowing the most active and social lifestyles possible. We believe that by helping seniors find the best communities with the appropriate level of care (such as home care, assisted living, or other types of care), they can continue to thrive – both mentally and physically.

Aging In Place

Aging in place is the process of staying in your own home as you grow older instead of moving to an outside facility. To properly age in place, you should create a budget, discuss options with your family, connect with home health services and identify necessary home modification projects.

Abuse

Nursing Homes Abuse

This site has a ton of information about Elder Abuse, how to report, and support an Elder that has been abused.

Your loved one has a legal right to be treated well. If you believe a family member was injured due to elder abuse, maltreatment, or neglect in a nursing home, contact us for a free case evaluation.

For Caregivers

Caregiving Resource CEnter

Family caregivers tend to the health and well-being of their aging parents, spouses and other loved ones, often while juggling careers, children and other obligations. Here are some key resources to help you better navigate caregiving.

Addiction

Al-Anon

Al-Anon members are people, just like you, who are worried about someone with a drinking problem.

Alcoholics Anonymous

Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of people who come together to solve their drinking problem.  It doesn’t cost anything to attend A.A. meetings. There are no age or education requirements to participate. Membership is open to anyone who wants to do something about their drinking problem.

A.A.’s primary purpose is to help alcoholics to achieve sobriety.

Narcotics Anonymous

NA is a nonprofit fellowship or society of men and women for whom drugs had become a major problem. We are recovering addicts who meet regularly to help each other stay clean. This is a program of complete abstinence from all drugs. There is only one requirement for membership, the desire to stop using.

Addiction Center

For many individuals, the first step toward recovery is acknowledging their personal struggle with substance dependence. The next step is finding a treatment program that can help restore their overall health, well-being, and happiness.

Start Your Recovery

StartYourRecovery.org provides helpful information for people who are dealing with substance use issues — and their family members, friends, and co-workers, too. We know that there is no one-size-fits-all solution to the challenges faced by those who misuse alcohol, prescription or illegal drugs, or other substances, and we aim to break through the clutter to help people at any stage of recovery.

RehabNet.com is an informational resource hub for people who are seeking treatment for substance use disorder.  Their site connects families to credible information about healthcare, treatment costs, providers, and more. Above all, they value: integrity, transparency in information, and stigma-free resources.  View their guide at https://rehabnet.com/new-jersey/
